About The Project

One of the key venues for Glasgow’s bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games is their new NISA and Velodrome.

As “architect of record”, Sport Concepts led an international team of consultants in the design of this unique facility. This is effectively four buildings in one! There is an indoor velodrome with a 250 metre wood track, a 5,000 seat multi-purpose indoor athletics arena, three indoor sports halls, and two office floors for the national sports federations.

In addition to its use for international sports competitions, the complex plays an important role in elite athlete training and public sports and recreation.

The development is a cornerstone in the redevelopment of the east end of Glasgow. The building opened in January 2013.
