Venue: Singapore Sports Hub
Commission: Consulting
Sport Concepts had an extensive role in the
prestigious Singapore Sports Hub development. The
project comprises an 80,000 seat national stadium,
indoor arena, aquatics centre, numerous indoor
sports halls, and a variety of supporting commercial
development.
Sport Concepts was part of a team, appointed
through an international competition, to provide
briefing and technical advise to the Government for
a public-private-partnership type of procurement.
Sport Concepts’ role continued through the
evaluation of the proposals offered by the private
sector development teams, and participation in the
interview and selection process.
During the design development phase of the three
shortlisted developer schemes, Sport Concepts
attended and assisted with design review panels.
These were organized by the Singapore Sports
Council and included the Singapore Development
Authority and president of the Singapore Architect’s
Institute.
This work led to the appointment of an international
consortium as the preferred developer. Sport
Concepts’ role included periodic reviews of the
design for compliance with the client’s design brief,
international sports federations’ requirements, and
international “best practice”.
