About The Project

Sport Concepts was commissioned by the Olympic Delivery Authority to undertake a Technical Advisor and client representative role for the UK Government in the design and construction of the 10,000 seat London 2012 Basketball Arena. Sport Concepts led the entire review team.

Work included an architectural review during the design phases with regard to aesthetic, operational, technical and safety aspects of the design.

In addition, Sport Concepts was commissioned to provide on-site supervision of the project during construction. This included a full time on site presence to monitor construction quality.

Sport Concepts influenced the design of the public access and egress with particular emphasis on wheelchair accessibility. This ensured the building satisfied all local regulations and international best practice.
