Venue: 2012 Aquatics Centre

Commission: Architectural Review & On Site Supervision

About The Project

Sport Concepts was commissioned by the Olympic Delivery Authority to undertake a client representative role for the UK Government in the development of the new London 2012 Aquatics Centre.

During the Games the venue hosted 15,000 spectators in two temporary seating stands. In legacy, the capacity of the venue was reduced to 2,500 spectators.

Work included an architectural review during the design phase with regard to aesthetic, operational, technical and safety aspects of the Zaha Hadid design.

In addition, Sport Concepts was commissioned to provide on site supervision of the project during construction. This included a full time on site presence to monitor construction quality.

The venue is now successfully operating in its Legacy configuration.
